Blanco’s award winning Modex sink certainly makes a design statement. Winner of the RED DOT Award, this piece is more than just a kitchen sink. Shown above in Blanco’s stylish new color Cinder, a striking shade of dark gray with a natural stone-like appeal and delicate hints of brown, it’s the inspiration for the ideal kitchen.
The designers gave the Modex a 3” profile that sits above the counter, so when you put this on a kitchen island or an extended depth countertop, it is going to intentionally stand out as a separate piece bringing attention to itself much like a functional piece of art. This sink offers a generous amount of surface space because it drains in two directions and fits a large cutting board. We skiers refer to this arc as a double “fall line.” You’re going down the mountain no matter where your skis hit the slope. The Modex’s integrated drain board has a cut slope from front to back AND from left to right to assure the water drains into the sink.
The quarter-inch thick ash cutting board fits perfectly in place and allows you to cut, chop, and prepare food on top of your sink. Juices and moisture easily run off into the sink. In addition Blanco Silgranit® II sinks feature a patented Hygenic+ Plus™ Formula – a shield against dirt and bacteria. The cells in the material of the sink are closed and nonporous, so water beads off and dries quickly so bacteria cannot get in. It is 100% food safe. Modex is available in other colors such as White and Anthracite as well. Visit blancoamerica.com for more information.
